I take this picture from a place not supposed to be view by any photo machine. Ouro Preto is a Brazilian very old city, where today lives largely in the past.
In 1933 it was declared a national monument and the
surrounding region a national park, so that the city's
elaborate (mostly late 18th-century) public buildings,
churches, and houses might be preserved or restored.
In more recent years Ouro Preto was declared International Monument of The Human History by UNESCO (World Heritage Landmark). |
